Agra has a small civil enclave at Kheria, about twelve kilometres from the Taj Mahal, sharing a runway with the Air Force station. It handles a limited number of domestic flights and the schedule changes with the season, so check your flight is actually operating before you plan around it. A transfer from the terminal to a Taj Ganj or Fatehabad Road hotel takes about half an hour. Call or message us for the current fare, as it depends on your hotel.
Most travellers arriving by air for Agra land at Indira Gandhi International and drive down. It is around 230 kilometres by the Yamuna Expressway, roughly four to four and a half hours from the terminal to an Agra hotel. The driver meets you inside arrivals with a board showing your name, so there is nothing to arrange once you land.
In the other direction, we plan the departure backwards from your flight. For an international departure we leave Agra five and a half to six hours before take-off, which sounds generous until the expressway has a bad morning.
